Do you foam roll? If not, you must start adding this to your daily routine! I highly recommend foam roller exercises for alleviating body aches and pains. I’m a massage therapist, so I have to care for my body more than most, and foam rolling is second nature to me. Plus, I have been an athlete my entire life, so massage and foam rolling have always been something I’ve always done to feel better. I’ve been rolling since college in 2000, so I’ve had plenty of experience testing out different products.
BLACKROLL® products are for sure my most favorite, as there are so many different rolling tools to choose from. They come in large and medium sizes, as well as mini travel sizes. Plus they are environmentally friendly, 100% recyclable, free of chemicals & propellent. They are also easy to clean and water resistent.
So why foam rolling you might ask….
If you are new to rolling, I’d suggest starting out with a white roller as they are less dense and softer on your muscles. Black rollers are effective for alleviating soreness and muscle kinks, but can be a bit painful because they are so dense and harder on your muscles. If you are an athlete and train often, I suggest foam rolling in your routine, because you will greatly reap the benefits. You will noticeably see the improvement of your flexibility in your muscular system, as well as gaining strength, mobility and balance while performing self massage.
Just like a massage benefits your body, when using foam rollers often you can target certain muscles and release the tension, gaining a higher performance in your muscles that you have worked on. If you are like me, and you like a deeper tissue massage, then the BLACKROLL® is a product you will probably be obsessed with! And sometimes when I’m feeling the need for a stronger foam roller (as if these aren’t hard enough already), I’ll use my own foam roller which I made out of a PVC pipe and a pool noodle, or I have a wooden back roller.
